I know that on one of the first posts ever, I dispelled the rumor that was going around that my boyfriend and I were getting engaged. That's still the case, but it seems to me that the longer we're together, the more it seems to me that we're a married couple. And this weekend has only continued that thought in my mind.
Let me point out a few of the things that we have done and did over this weekend. Much of our time is spent not going out. We spend quite a bit of time home with either his family or my own. That is the wonderfulness of being poor and I have no problem with it. Just thank goodness for my paycheck this week!
Now, that is no problem. We watch our show every week and then we're all good. This week at his house, his nieces came over. As I sat there playing with them, I was told I was acting like I was their parent. Yeah, married with two crazy little girls. I hope not. Bless me with a bum ovary or two for that matter.
Then, one of the few times that we leave the house. One of them was to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie, which I was in love with by the way! We went with his mom and brother.
The only other time that we left, we went to Walmart with my little sister. We had been there the night before, but you can never go too many times. The night before, we went to get something to eat. Being 9 at night and not having eaten dinner, you tend to hunt for cheap fast food that isn't completely crap. We ended up not getting a bad deal.
As we wondered around with our food, I looked at prices of things I've been meaning to buy for quite some time. This included the magic of curtains. My room is so bright that I die a little bit every morning. We didn't stop there though.
I had been thinking about new bedding too. I came to find that my boyfriend and I have about the same taste in color and texture. Looks like if we were to live together, the sleeping arrangements and eating would be just fine. Even better, the next morning, we looked at dished online. Yes, dishes. And loved the same ones.
I played Ms. Housewife, making orange chicken and mashed potatoes. I was loved and my boyfriend was kind enough to clean out dishes and the like too. I felt very content and thought to myself that that was the kind of evening I could see myself with for a time if it were to come to me.
But back to Walmart with him and my sister. The curtains that I was looking for the night before, I bought. I also bought him a new pillow for his bed that we had been looking at the night before. It was a wonderful total of $47.74 when all was said and done, but I like to think of it as a good thing. I'm getting my paycheck and hopefully it will be quite a bit more since I've been working so much the last few weeks.
And we closed off the night watching our show "Once Upon a Time". You would think us very dull people, but I love every minute of it. I think that it's amazing and I can't picture myself not having these slow kind of days where me, my boyfriend, his brother, and his brother's girlfriend and daughter all fall asleep in the living room because we were up all night being goofballs.
So thus, you see I can deal with some of the more laid back aspects of being married. Or so it would seem. Still not planning on it anytime soon, but in some areas, I know that I won't die of boredom, but live happily in my own contentment.
I learned though that my boyfriend is not a happy camper when my phone rings though. We were hanging around in his room and it was still what you could call the morning. It was 10 or so and for us on a weekend, that is too early to deal with many people.
Aristotle calls me about everyday though now since we've been in college and this is no different. I couldn't get to the phone though, so my boyfriend answered it. And he played off like Aristotle has just interrupted us in the middle of something.
It was all well and good, but he was playing it off that it wasn't the best thing to have happened. It won't surprise me if I end up having to turn the phone off every time we start making out. It's a new side, but it's him all the same. And I had a fun time watching him and Aristotle arguing back and forth on the phone about what was an appropriate hour since he has woken us both up on a few occasions. His good outweighs the bad. Especially the sweetness of him that keeps ever persisting.
I'm sure his younger brother doesn't see it that way, but whatever. You can live with it little boy. We make out, and like to be near each other. He grabbed my boob in front of you to freak you out. It was funny as heck! Get over it.
Yes, I probably am still in the stages of newly wed bliss, but it's happiness all the same. So looks like I'm still married, even if it's more in my own mind than anything else. Wonder what my boyfriend will have to say about this one after he reads it while he's on break at work.
