Ah yes, it is I. Yet again I have fallen off the map. But if you must know it is due to a number of things, even though it feels like I keep saying that every time I actually manage to make another blog post. Well, this is life with me and sadly my life involves a number of things during the week. So let's start this baby!
So first off, I got my assignments for my student teaching. One is solely observation. This will be in a local middle and high school with students that are ELL or English Language Learners. They are the kind of people that have moved here for some reason or another and now need to learn to read, write, and speak in English. Today I was actually suppose to go and observe, but the weather has fixed that. We have been snowed in for the last two days. You know it is bad when my employer even decides to close down for the day since no one can get out the employees would be trapped there.
But anyway, my second teaching gig would be one that involves teaching a first grade class. Now I don't know if I have mentioned it, but little kids to a certain extent scare me. It is fine when it is just one or two like I watched when I worked in the daycare. But the idea of a room of about 20 or so of them, and then having them pay attention to me when I have never taught anything in my life?! Well I take that back...I train people at work, but they are forced to listen to me or they get fired. Either way!
But it just freaks me out a little bit. I'm going to be going in next week to meet with the teacher and everything. I still haven't heard back from her, so I'm going to be calling on Monday to see when I should be coming in on Friday to just see what the class is up to, so that they know some girl is going to be there.
Next is the constant that is known to the world as school. I've gotten a bit more use to it. I've taken two tests already and haven't done too shabby if I do say so myself. The only class I'm having any real issue with is my Lit class, but that is mainly due to me not understanding the syllabus. So, I've read two of the assigned books in very short time. Other than that, I'm just kept busy.
Finally, in the outside world I've been working. Still a low amount for what I am used to. This is mainly due, or so says my manager, because of the cold months and people trying to eat better at the beginning of the year. On the upside, after my boss came back from vacation in the Carribean...yeah he gets to go there while we all serve chicken...he texted me about the tests that I took.
Now to make a long story short I was told that I wouldn't be getting a promotion due to the fact that there were things people had to watch my doing. This pretty much meant, all the things I was tested on, someone had to watch me doing and due to the fact that we're always just trying to meet demand, I pretty much gave up on making any extra money.
But thankfully that changed when my boss sent me a text about if I had taken all these tests. So I told the truth and said that I had completed all the tests that I could see. So I got a raise! After a year, I got a raise, a well deserved one I like to think. It is more than I made at the daycare, so that is nice. I'm not getting those kinds of hours, but hey, I can't complain too much or the karma will come back to bite me I'm sure.
So that is all the good news in the outside world. The rest of my time has been spent doing the few things that I like to do when I'm alone and recently that has been bonding with YouTube and playing the Sims 3.
Now when it comes to the Sims, you would think that there isn't a lot to do, right? This is not the case. I have started a challenge known across the internet as a legacy and this is probably one of the more challenging things considering what it entails.
To make it short, you start out with only $1,300 on a giant lot. This is a challenge due to the fact that I love to cheat to become rich so I can make a house as nice as I want. Along with this, you have to live through 10 generations, slowly building up your home and your life.
Of course there are goals to meet and optional rules. I don't know if I want to play by these. Like the first person that you have is called the founder of the family and you must have an heir to keep the family going. Adopted kids don't count. But the thing is, you can optionally have every heir be the same gender as the founder or not I guess. I don't want to bore you.
I've already started and am excited to get farther as I'm looking at other people's games online. They have created blogs. I may play another one to do this with the optional rules. I don't know just yet, but I know that my sister has started one and I think it will be interesting to see where she goes.
Well, this has been a long post. So until next time!
